Paldor lies at the south-east end of Ganesh Himal marking the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas at the head of the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trisuli Gandaki river.

Paldor being in one of the mass of the Ganesh Himal, but still its position somewhat removed from the main range of the Ganesh. So as you reach the summit, a grandeur view awaits you, stretching from Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) in the Annapurna range, all the way to the peaks of the Khumbu region along with the Mt. Shisapangma and the brown hills of Tibet. After the strenuous enjoyable climb a pleasant walk back to the busy bazaar of Trishuli via scenic route of Tiru Danda and Pansing Bhanjyang. A three hours drive on the winding road will brings you back to the civilization in Kathmandu.

Paldor Peak Climbing - 20 Days Detailed Itinerary

1Day

Arrival in Kathmandu.

It is a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. A representative and driver from our office will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The representative will help you check into your designated hotel. At the hotel you will be briefed about your daily activities.

2Day

Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The city presents a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence in the Valley. Patan and Bhaktapur, its two major neighboring cities bear immense historical, cultural and religious significances. There will be a half day guided tour to the famous and biggest Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal Boudhanath, the 15th century Palace of 55 windows and Swoyambhunath.

3Day

Drive to Syabru Besi (1400m).

From Kathmandu, you take approx nine-hours drive to Syabru Besi, which the starting point of your trek. After driving 30 kms, you approach pristine villages on the banks of the Trishuli River. You also get enchanting panoramic views of the Himalaya, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region.

4Day

Trek to Gatlang (2,200m).

Today you start early, beginning your trek from Syabru Besi to Gatlang. On the way to Gatlang, the Goljung view point will, after a short 3 hour walk, give you an amazing panorama of the Ganesh Himal including Shishapangma (8013m) and Langtang Lirung (7246m). You climb the first half of the day and the second half, you follow the road. The second part of the trek is easier than the first half. You camp overnight at Gatlang.

5Day

Trek to Yuri Kharka (2800m).

From Gatlang, you walk for about an hour and a half and reach a local village. As you continue along the trail, you pass through forests of fir, juniper, rhododendron and local vegetation. After walking for about five hours, you reach Yuri Kharka.

6Day

Trek to Somdang (3,270m).

Today, you trek from Yuri Kharka to Somdang via Khurpudanda pass (3,620m). Till Khurpudanda pass the trail moves uphill and you begin to follow a decent path to reach Somdang. From the view point of Khurpudanda pass you can enjoy the spectacular views of Paldor, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Pangsang La, etc. En route you pass through forests. At Somdang you can observe the zinc mines. Today you trek for about five hours.

7Day

Trek to Jasta Khani (3700m.).

Leaving Somdang, you continue along the trail to Jasta Khani, which takes about five hours. Today you make a gradual ascent along the path passing through forests until you reach Paigutang Kharka. From here, the trail steeply goes up to Jasta Khani. On the way you cross rocky paths covered by juniper. There is a zinc mine at Jasta Khani as well.

8Day

Trek to Paldor Base Camp (4,280m).

Today, you trek from Jasta Khani to Paldor Base Camp which takes about five hours. The trail ascends along the rocky glacier path. En route, you can enjoy the views of the Paldor Peak and other rock hills.

9Day

Rest Day at Base Camp.

Today is a rest day at Base Camp for proper acclimatization for the preparation of Paldor summit.

10Day

Climb to High Camp.

Today you climb from Paldor Base Camp to High Camp which takes about five hours. As you continue along the trail, it moves through rocky glaciers. En route, you get completely mesmerized by the views of Paldor East and Paldor West. You also get to enjoy the views of green and rocky hills around you.

11Day

Rest Day at High Camp.

Today is a rest day at High camp for acclimatization for your trek to the Paldor summit.

12Day

Summit of Paldor Peak (5,896m) & returen to Base camp.

You trek to the Summit of Paldor Peak and return to Base Camp, this takes approximately nine hours. At the summit of Paldor, you get panoramic views of Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Ganesh I, II, III, Manaslu and along with views of Tibet mountains.

13Day

Trek to Somdang (3,270m).

From the Base Camp, you walk straight downhill all the way to Paigutang Kharka. From here, the trail gradually descends to Somdang. Today you trek for about seven hours.

14Day

Trek to Narchet Kharka (3800m).

Continuing along the trail, you trek from Somdang to Narchet Kharka. To reach Narchet Kharka you trek gradual along an ascending path passing through forests and green hills. En route, you get to enjoy the views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Langtang Lirung and so on. Today you trek for about seven hours to reach Narchet Kharka.

15Day

Trek to Sertung.Trek to Sertung.

Leaving Narchet Kharka, you continue along the trails, which descends at first and then climbs up for some distance. En route, you cross through forests of bamboo, pine and rhododendron. You also get to view stunning waterfalls. On this route, Tipling is the first village you come across. It is a big Tamang village which is rich in mixed culture and has chorten and church. People living here have their distinct life style and they are involved in making goods from bamboo sticks. Now you climb down steeply until you cross a suspension bridge over Gorkhen Khola (stream). After you cross the river, the trails go uphill to Sertung, another Gurung village. People of here are friendly and they warmly welcome the trekkers. Today you trek for about seven hours.

16Day

Trek to Jharlang.

As you leave from Sertung, the early part of the trail goes gently up until you arrive at a small ridge. From here, you can enjoy spectacular view of Ganesh Himal, lush green terraces, waterfall and several villages at a distance. Now you climb down the ridge and cross farming terraces and local villages. After your lunch at Borang, you walk downhill and uphill respectively to reach Jharlang. It is a Tamang village with mixed culture. Today you trek for approximately eight hours.

17Day

Trek to Darkha.

Leaving Jharlang you trek to Darkha which takes about seven hours. You begin today’s trek by crossing a landslide near Jharlang, and then ascending up along the trail with views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, jungle, waterfall, farming terraces and villages. Darkha is the first Brahmin village on this trek. From here you can enjoy the view of Aankhu stream at some distance.

18Day

Trek to Khahare Bazaar.

Today you trek from Darkhu to Khahare Bazaar which takes about seven hours. The early part of your trek is decent up to Darkha phedi and your route moves along the river bank until you reach Khahare. Khahare Bazaar has a big market with lodges, tea shops, big school and other important buildings. This place is famous for magnificent views of green farming terraces.

19Day

Drive to Kathmandu.

From Khahare Bazaar, you will be driven for about eight hours to Kathmandu. The road till Dhadingbesi is unpaved and then you drive along the well paved road to reach Kathmandu. The road journey from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu is stunningly scenic with beautiful views of rivers, hills, terraces, forests and villages.

20Day

Depart Kathmandu.

Our Nepalese support team will take you to the airport for your flight home. Or if you prefer to stay longer you can go for short tours such as Safari at National parks, Rafting, Tibet tours, mountain biking,.etc
