For those who don't want to go all the way to Everest base camp or who don't have longer vacations, the Everest View journey is a short, traditional journey to the mountain. Aside from providing traditional, up-close views of Everest and other Khumbu mountains, this walk also provides cultural context for the fabled Sherpas of the Everest region. The Everest Panorama itinerary was thoughtfully created to effectively and quickly convey the beauty, people, and culture of Nepal. One of our most satisfying treks is to the Everest region! Friendly people, stunning scenery, and a wide range of cultural traditions may all be found in Nepal.
This combination of outdoor exploration and cultural discovery is a fantastic approach to get to know the Himalayan Mountains. We offer a remarkable 8-day journey that includes a wide variety of stunning scenery together with one-of-a-kind cultural contacts with the kindhearted Sherpa people who live in these high-altitude regions to give you a glimpse into the heart of the villages of these people.
With the quick flight to Lukla, the Everest vista (Panorama) climb places us right in the middle of the Khumbu. As we make our way toward Namche Bazaar, we quickly enter Sagarmatha National Park. There, we have time to explore the Sherpa museum and observe the sunset over Mount Everest and the Lhotse/Nuptse wall.
We stay the night in Tengboche so that we can take in the 360-degree mountain view and visit the monastery, where we could be fortunate enough to see a ceremony. From here, we make our way down to Khumjung and Thame, two charming settlements. The venerable gompa in Khumjung has some horrifying demon masks, and you may see the rumored yeti scalp there. The legendary story of "Shangri La" will feel all-too-real after visiting a series of Sherpa settlements surrounded by fluttering prayer flags and sparkling snow-capped peaks. There is the opportunity to take an early-morning "Everest Flight" on our way back to Kathmandu for a dramatic conclusion. This quick climb, appropriate for weekend hikers, provides a wonderful introduction to the pleasures of Himalayan hiking, including those crucial vistas of Mount Everest.
